Sandy Hart

Director

Sandy completed a B.Sc. in Physical Geography at Trent University in 1974 and a Masters in Physical Geography at the University of British Columbia in 1979. He is registered as a Professional Geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Since 1979 Sandy has made his home in Tatlayoko Valley where he operates a small hay farm with his wife, Sandra McGirr, and works as an environmental and resource use consultant. He has more than 30 years of consulting experience in British Columbia, working mainly in the fields of geomorphology and environmental hydrology, in a range of applications in agriculture, forestry, and environmental planning and protection. From 2008 to 2016, Sandy and Sandra  co-founded and ran a local not-for-profit organization concerned with drinking water quality and health issues in the Andes Mountains of southern Peru. Sandy is a member of the Tatla Resource Association, Tatla Lake and Area Community Association, Tatlayoko Community Association, West Chilcotin Search and Rescue (Director), and Tatla Lake Ski Club (President). He is an avid Nordic and backcountry skier, hiker, canoeist, and mountain biker.
